Day 7- Dragster

Tonight we went to watch Tia Cary race her dragster. She did good! Unfortunately she didn't win, but there is always next time.

We were able to snap a quick picture of Jayden practicing. Soon enough we'll be out there watching Jayden race down the track. He's clearly already a professional ;).

Day 6- 18 month check up

Today we had Jayden's 18 month check up (yeah, I know, he's almost 19 months).  I find it so amazing how much he's changed and growing every time we go there.

I remember when he was a newborn they would send us to a back room to wait to keep him from getting sick. When he was 12 months he was walking around looking at all of the toys and was amazed by the fish in the big tank. Now at 18 months he's running around mastering all the toys, sliding down the slide, drawing on the chalkboard, and saying 'hi' and 'bye bye' to everyone in his path. We don't go back until he's 2 (unless he gets sick in between) and I can't wait to see what new things he does then. 

Today's picture is of him looking at all of the birds in the huge cage they have. He didn't notice them in June when we were there but now he couldn't take his eyes off of them. He pulled up a step stool and just watched the birds while we waited. Jayden also pointed out the 'aqua, tees, and fowers' outside too. And in case you don't speak Jaydenese that's water, trees, and flowers lol.

Now for his 18 month stats! He's:
24 pounds
32 inches

Day 5- mesmerized

Everyday Jayden asks to watch Hammer (Handy Manny) or Choo Choo (Choo Choo Soul). He usually wants me to flip back and forth between the two just drive me crazy. I'm pretty much tired of listening to them both by now so I attempted to find something else for him to watch. Low and behold there is special music episode on the Disney On Demand channel. He sat like this through the whole thing lol. Maybe I have 3 things to flip between now :).

Day 4- helicopter

Tio Jeff gave this remote control plane to Jionel for Christmas and it's now Jayden's latest obsession. Before he left for daycare he made Jionel fly the plane around the house and it was the first thing he asked for when Jionel got home from work tonight. Luckily he didn't ask me to fly the plane! I surely would have broke it. 

Day 3- self portrait

On an up note, he's finally feeling better. After an almost 4 day food strike he's finally eating like a pig again and not near as whiny as he was over the weekend. However it seems like the boys passed their icky germs to me. Boo!

Day 2- sword fight

Today was a rough day for Jayden. He woke up in a bad mood and pretty much stayed that way all day. Sorry mom :). He hasn't been feeling well for the past few days. Hopefully whatever is bothering him will be over soon.

He found his "sword" in his toy box and decided to slay some dragons. This kid totally knows what he's doing when it comes to dragon slaying. If I didn't know any better I would have thought he had been doing this his whole life. :-D

Day 1- sick and sleepy

This is about how the first day of 2012 looked in the Fernandez household. Two sick boys. It did, however, give me some much needed relaxation time :).


I'm starting this blog to capture all of our amazing moments for 2012. The goal is to take a picture a day. If you know me then you know that wont be difficult at all. Haha! I hope you all stick around to see what 2012 has in store for our family.
